NSP2 Application submitted. HAMC as the lead member of the Home Place Team consortium, along with the ASU Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family, Arvizu Advertising and Promotions, Michael Huscroft and Associates, Cherokee Development, SKR Construction, Mutual of Omaha Bank and the Ellman Companies, has submitted a request for funding under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) to redevelopment the property known as Holiday Park in South Scottsdale, adversely affected by massive foreclosures in consequence of the current economic crisis. Clarification to Notice of Public Participation issued on July 5, 2009 for NSP 2 Program: HUD is requiring applicants to provide no fewer than 10 calendar days for citizen comment. Specifically, applicants must, at least 10 days prior to application submission to HUD, post information on (1) the amount of money, (2) uses of funds, and (3) in which target geography, it plans to address in its NSP2 program on its official website. With the NSP2 application package, applicants must include a summary of citizen comments received during the comment period and the URL address of the website where the plan is posted. No comments have been received. The application will be submitted July 15, 2009.
This information will clarify the referenced notice issued to encourage public comments regarding the Housing Authority of Maricopa County and the agency intent to apply for NSP2 Funds. (Posted July 14, 2009)



Second Notice of Public Participation: Request to Apply for Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP2) Funding. The Housing Authority of Maricopa County (HAMC), acting as lead applicant, and its consortium members are applying for a grant in the amount of at least $5 Million dollars under the NSP2 Notice of Funding, for $1.9 billion by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provided under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA), for additional activities under Division B Title III of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA) to further address the problem of abandon and foreclosed homes in the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, Maricopa Country, census tract 2175.00.
