Referral Services | Emergency Shelters

The Housing Authority of Maricopa County (HAMC) does not provide emergency housing. All applicants must meet federal income and eligibility requirements, and then be put on a waiting list. Because of the great demand for this service, it may take several months or even years before assistance can be provided.

The following organizations provide a variety of services in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, including emergency shelter for the homeless. Two referral service hotline numbers are also listed. These organizations can provide important information on the different types of both private and public assistance available throughout Maricopa County.
